Norh Rajnaruk
The Norh Raj are a unique species and have a variety of colorations and patterns in their pelt. Coloring and pattern should always show that they come from a cold climate with pine trees, tundra, boreal forests, and tall mountains. Norh come in two traits; Argent and Geyser.
Temprament and SocietyNorh are known for being bold and stubborn, taking pride in their size and appearance. The Norh are stubborn by nature and being called a coward is an insult. Insulting the Jarl or his family is seen as a crime and members are shunned if they insult their leaders in their culture. They keep mostly to themselves in the Highlands of the north which is known for the freezing tempratures, cold and raw air and dangerous climate. If there's something a Norh doesn’'t like or approve of, they don't hesitate to let it be known. They dislike following orders from outsiders, their stubborn nature making it difficult.
They are loyal to their own kind, and wary of outsiders if they haven't yet proven trustworthy. If their friends or their kind are threatened, they are bold and courageous in defense, even if the threat is much more dangerous than them. Raj will not hesitate to attack someone that could prove to be a danger to them, and will help their own kind even if it means risking their own lives. Their pups are taugth from a young age that fear is not an enemy, and to not allow fear to make them a fool. Pups will often make dare and see how brave they can be, unfortunately often ending in tragedy because they can't tell fear and courage apart. They follow the command of their Jarl, and while the Jarl is of the Nobleborn bloodline, the Jarl often joins in on hunts and patrols, hunting side-by-side with their people. Male Norh tends to be more calmer and gentler, while females are known for being more outgoing and aggressive, as well as more bold. They both carry equal status in the Norh society. |

A Norh is considered a Puppy between 0-2 years of age, a Juvenile up to 7 years, Adolescent between 8 and 14. They are sexually mature at the age of 18. They are considered a young adult until age of 25. Between the ages 26 and 40 they're considered to be a Mature Adult, and from 40 to 60 they're considered Known Adults, and then they become Elders until their death day. They value their elders, and if a wolf is too old to hunt for themselves, younger hunters will bring them food each evening. It's not uncommon for elders to help teach the younger generations, who will often visit and listen to their knowledge.
While they do well as lone and independent travellers, they will prefer to travel with a small circle of friends, family, or companions. They typically prefer their own species as company. They value valor and courage, as well as their connection to the nature around them and eachother. They feel a connection to the boreal lights, and this often plays a part in them finding a mate. After a long day of travel they will often settle down for the night and groom themselves or eachother to strenghten their bond before sleeping together as a pack.

reproduction and early stages
Norh wolves are loyal, and will usually bond with a wolf for their entire lives. They connect through their souls and trust, which means their eyes play a big part in their courtship. Males will often try to impress females by standing in the boreal lights and let his eyes shine and reflect the light. Females will often try and impress males by bringing home large prey, as well as having water reflect their eye-color; their souls. After they have locked eyes and felt the soul connection, they usually mate for life. They have a deep, unbreaking trust between eachother which stays strong throughout their lives, and because of this. affairs or mistrust is almost unheard of in their species.
Females gestate for 90 to 100 days, and will usually have a litter of pups between 2-4 in each litter and generally will have between 1-2 litters during their lifespans between the ages of 20 and 40. During the pregnancy, both wolves will work togehter to find and plan their nesting site, and while the female rests the male will bring her nesting materials such as moss, heather and flowers to decorate their den. Sometimes in the larger packs, females will all share a nursery togehter with smaller dens inside where they can be more private, but this allows for more sucecessful raising of their youngs. After the pups are born, the female will nurse them while the male brings food for her while she nurses and protects them. There are no differences in ranks, and even the Jarl pair will share a den site with the other members of their pack.
Their pups are born with a very dark pelt, blind and deaf for around 2 weeks. During this time they cannot keep themselves warm, so their parents have to stay close for 4 weeks, switching roles between keeping the pups warm or hunt, while the pups grow and start learning to speak and explore. Due to the cold and harsh nature, pup deaths is not uncommon. If the pup is sick, born weak, or in harsh conditions where survival is unlikely, the father will often kill his own pups as mercy so they won't die slowly and cruelly. Because of this harsh way of living, the pups are not named until they reach 2 years old, as they believe their names are proof that they survived the harshest stage in life. While nameless, they will often simply be referred to as the color of their pelt or other characteristics.
As they grow, their fur will start to take on their adult coloration and pattern, and when they are below 1 year of age their fur will grow faster than their bodies, resulting in very fluffy puppies. They will be slowly allowed to explore more and more under the supervision of either, or both of their parents, aunts, uncles or grandparents. When they reach 2 years of age, they will be given their names and be introduced into Norh society, and they'll often visit elders or grandparents to hear stories and legends of their world.

Abilities
The Norh are built for wandering and long hunts; they are a hardy and sturdy species. They can withstand sub-zero temperatures and can survive in the harshest conditions. They aren't the quickest or the most agile of wolves, but they are the most durable and the largest of the wolf species.
The Norh's natural ability is immunity to tier 1-3 conditions and insulation against frost.

Physical Appearance
The Norh have large, bulky bodies with thick, double layered fur and and deep chests. They have long tails that often can be seen dragging after them with fur tufts at the base of their tails. They also have long legs with big paws that act like snow shoes that allows them to traverse deep snow with more ease.
Their fur coloration comes in mainly two different colorations; typical gray and silver, and gray and beige depending on their Subspecies Trait.
Norh Raj have a unique phenomenon that can occur in their young, causing a significant change in pelt color. Their fur can become quite dark, and this occurs if they are not exposed to enough sunlight as pups, and as they age, their pelts will not get lighter. This can result in darker colorations that normally are not seen in the Norh species, and with less contrast in their markings, such as Atarith, having a dark green-tinted main color. The more sun they are exposed to as pups, the lighter their pelts will be with more variance in the colors in their pelt.

Argent
Argents come in various colors of gray and silver, with pale, tan or white highlights, and darker markings, similar to gray wolves. They usually have between 3-5 different colors, and they will always have at least one lighter marking and one darker marking to the main body color with a lighter underside and darker top. Patterns vary, but lighter markings on the neck, and spots on the back are very common. Their pelt will often bear a resemblance with the ice. They can also have blue and green-hued markings.
Geyser
The Geyser trait possess a mixed coloration of gray or silver and beige or orange fur. They are much lighter in color and don't have dark or black markings. While they come in orange and beige, gray is always their main color. The Geyser live near the Northern coast and have adapted to life as sub-aquatic. They are calmer than their Argent cousins. Geyser wolves are only found in Reen.
Decoration
Norh wolves will sometimes decorate their fur with items that bear meaning or are special to them. The decorations are usually crafted from collectables they find in nature or a special item given to them by someone they hold dear. This consists of stones, feathers, bones, leather, antlers, plants, wood, and flowers. They will fasten it to their fur or paws to decorate themselves. Some may sometimes wear an armband around a paw or the tail.
Culture & Death
Aside from the strong religions in the North, the Northerners have a very traditional culture. They value hard work, loyalty and honesty. Their core is their home; their land, their culture and kin, despite this they are known to like to wander and travel. They are loyal to their Jarls and their kind. Betrayal can lead to punishment by banishment.
The Norh often goes on journeys they call Pilgrim Journeys, and travel across their territory visiting ancient shrines spread across their lands. They believe in great spirits, demons and gods under the ice that they believe are violent and dangerous. They believe the Old Gods gave them the courage to overcome fear to fight the spirits and demons beneath the ice and ground, and they practice this belief by visiting shrines for offerings in prayers to the old gods. They believe strongly in their names, as they carry their names with honor and pride. If a Norh is banished from their home, they will often change their name and live as outcasts.

In Norh culture, all children have middle names from their parent or grandparent, with the suffix "dottir" for daughters, and "son" for males in every Highborn family or family with status. Examples include Siryn "Atarithdottir" Jakoll and Ashkil "Atarithson" Jakoll. While it is not often used in day-to-day conversations, the full name is used for introductions and formal conversations between Nobles or Highborn and as a proper way to address Nobleborns or Highborns.
The Norh will show respect to the dead by only allowing family to touch and mourn them on the first night and they will not light any torches in their homes to allow the spirit of the dead to pass without distraction or temptation to linger by its warmth. During the grieving process, no food is to be eaten or made.

On the second night, their friends and others will grieve. On the third night they will burn them due to permafrost in the ground. However, Nobles and the Highborn are still buried due to old traditions where they believe the Jarl's purpose even in death is to fight the demons and spirits under the ice to protect their home and their kind.
Ranks
While the Norh don't live by their ranks, they do have a rank system, the biggest difference between the Highborn and Lowborns.
NOBLEBORNS
- The Nobleborns are the highest ranking in the Norh society. They are the family bloodline that carries the Noble element ice. Currently, the Noble Element is held by Jarl Atarith, Siryn, Lykseth, Ashkil, Kaily, and several of their aunts, uncles and cousins. The Nobleborns have very few restrictions, and will often spend time with the lower ranks and even marry lower ranks if they fall in love with someone.
HIGHBORNS
- Highborns are relatives and other high ranking officials in the Norh society. They don't have the Noble element, but serve directly under the Jarl as advisors and council members, each having a task that they oversee from their capital. Some of their jobs include that of Lords, overseeing provinces within the Highlands to help the Jarl, offer him advise and take charge if an attack happens. Highborns are also often lead hunters or commanders. The Jarl will often hand-pick Highborns to do tasks, such as appointing Lords of Territories or advisors.
LOWBORN
- While often seen as the lowest class, most other Raj fall under this category if they are not Highborns or Nobleborns. Lowborns have a large variety of ranks, but can build up and become Highborn by appointment form the Jarl. The Lowborns serves as hunters, traders, merchants, scouts, patrols, fighters and so on. Commoners also fall under this rank.

Norh Laws
While most Norh rule by old traditions and the current Jarl's views on what is a severe law break, there are still guidelines that Norh follows and know the punishments for breaking. Punishments are often imprisonment or becoming marked. Being marked can mean multiple things, and are often used as a system. Some marking could mean a certain scar, or a ring or band to show them what crime they've done. Other punishments include banishments, and though reserved for more severe traitors against the Nobleborn and the Norh species, executions can occour.

Diet
Their diet mainly consists of meat, though they are known for several unique recipes and like to mix their meat with berries, vegetables or wild-greens. They will hunt anything from hare to bison, and even mammoths in large planned hunts. They especially like to mix their meat with juniper berries. They respect their prey by using everything they kill and don't let anything spoil, as it is considered to be a bad omen if wolves kill for sport and not for food. When preparing meat, they will often mix with berries, herbs and roots to spread the taste and to integrate nature in their meals. Some Northern wolves dedicate their lives to become professional hunters of The Tundra and each hunt is carefully planned.
Territory
Their territory lies within the Northern Highlands, which consist of barren lands like Iceland’s highlands and forests, Norway's mountains, fjords, boreal, pine forests and tall snowy mountains. The home of the Norh, Highmere has a consistently cold climate, the air always being chilly and raw, and snowing in the middle of summer is not uncommon. The Southern parts of their territory are brown and green, while in the North the land is gray with some ice and snow that never melts. In the Stone Lands, their territory is more flat and rocky, while the North’s lands remains icy with the water full of ice as well, while the Southern peak is covered with dry, red, and pink grass and gray beaches that stretch far.
How to recognize a Norh
Norh Raj are quite easy to distinguish from other species, thanks to their unique appearance. However, there can be situations where it is hard to spot them. The easiest way to identify them is to first look at their body and appearance. The Norh are the biggest Raj known, possess long thick fur, and big, long tails. Their fur color is either gray or silver with a tint of green or blue, or beige or tan accompanied by white and black markings. The Norh are also one of the few species that could easily look like a real-life gray wolf. The Geyser Trait has the same limitations as the Argent Trait, but Geyser wolves will always have orange and/or beige along with gray markings.
