Solaius Ranjaruk
Solaius Raj are very elusive, rarely leaving their territory. Their homes are hidden well in the midst of the Salt Lands. They come in mainly two colors; White and Gold. They make their home in Helmyre, a land believed to be trapped in the season of Autumn forever, with birch trees always carrying red and orange leaves and giving their territory an enchanting look. Despite their calm and graceful nature, they are very superstitious.
TEMPRAMENT AND SOCIETY
Solaius wolves are calm, proud, and gentle by nature. They spend most of their days in nature and are very connected to their surrondings and to their packmembers. They are very loyal to eachother, and will spend a several hours together sleeping in piles or grooming eachother. Despite depending and relying on eachother, they are still quite independent, but they prefer a social lifestyle. Because they live in such a unique location, they have learned to adapt, which includes being able to drink brack and salt water. However, Solaius are not good swimmers, so they prefer to not go into deep water.
They prefer staying neutral or passive whenever possible, however, if they feel threatened they will band up together to remove the threat, and it's not uncommon to hear of them killing dangers or threats. The Solaius is one of the few wolves who rely a lot on body language instead of speech. While they talk and can communicate normally, Solaius also rely a lot on body language. A simple posture and tail flick can communicate intent without saying a single word. Its believed this was formed to share information between eachother without outsiders knowing what they say. Some outside species have even spread a rumours the Solaius can communicate telepathically. The Solaius are proud and graceful, never letting their tails drag along on the floor and keeping their fur clean and shiny. They like to stay clean, so they don't like to venture out in rain or through mud and dirt. They welcome travellers into their territory and nurse injured wolves back to health if they are injured or need help. Solaius wolves are very knowledgeable about plants and their healing properties, and they like to spend time just exploring their territory and wandering. They are however, very superstitious and secretive. They are afraid of the unknown, and prefer the comfort of what they know and are familiar with. They are honest with eachother, but to outsiders they are very secretive and it's hard to get any information from them. |

The Solaius do not accept any magical practives that even tip toes into the concept of dark or blood magic, and witches are killed if found. They also are known to kill or chase out members if they gain a Physical Mutation because of the uncertainty of what caused it. Wolves that are banished from the Solaius tribe often become loners and often change completely, losing their honor and pride as a Solaius.
Blue eyes, the Curse Crest, has been extinct from this species for as long as anyone can remember. The Curse Crest, while normally can only be passed on if one of the parent's have blue eyes, will sometimes randomly occour in Solaius pups for no known reasons. They believe it is a curse, an omen, so pups born with blue eyes will usually be killed. There are currently no Solaius with blue eyes.
Not much is known about their inner culture as they are very elusive and secretive. They have a tribe-like social group, where their leader is chosen by a circle of elders and previous leaders, based on leadership qualities. Each leader sets an example and can change the rules how he or she pleases to improve the clan, but it could also be for selfish gains. They present themselves as kind, welcoming, and open minded, but their rules could change if a different leader is chosen. They will always actively seek out better ways to improve their clan and gather information and news from outsiders and visitors.

REPRODUCTION AND EARLY STAGES
Solaius form deep connections to their packmates, and will usually mate for life. However, it's not unusual if they decide it doesn't work out for them to find a new mate, even if they have had pups together. Solaius prefer others that have a shiny and clean fur and a nice den. Males will often bring gifts to females in forms of prey or a nice feather they find in the wild. Females will often bring males along to gorgeous locations to impress them. They do not have marriages, and word of mouth spreads if two wolves have decided to become mates.
Females gestate for about 120 days, and will usually only give birth to one pup, so singlet litters are not uncommon and it's more rare for a female to have more than one pup. Female Solaius will usually nest in her own den, decorate a small bird-like nest with leaves, feathers, bones and other items she finds pretty. The males will help her build the nest and bring in fresh moss for the female everyday. When she's getting ready to give birth, the male will be with her to help if she needs it, and they will usually not let anyone else into the den while she gives birth.
Solaius pups are born deaf, but not blind, and can see from the moments they are born and they are also born with fangs and some of their molar teeth. Because of this, the pups rarely drink milk for longer than a few days before they will eat chewed-up meat. They are also born with downy fluff-like fur that covers their entire bodies except for their heads. Their true colors doesn't come out before this fluff sheds, not too far from what happens to baby penguins. This downy fluff usually sheds a few months after they're born.
Because they're born deaf but not blind, it gives them a headstart to learn body language and intent from very early on from their parents. The parents will usually decide their names, but it may take a while before they settle on a name. Their ears open after they're one month old. The male will during this time share responsibilities, and will switch out with the female to hunt, relax or watch their pup. Both parents will chew up meat for their young one. The pups usually learn to walk when they are 2-3 months old.
When their pups reach about 5 months old, they will be allowed to play with other pups their age. They will play fight and tuffle, and communicate through body language taught by their parents. They are very gentle with eachother even as pups. Around this age they will also start to groom themselves as their true fur starts to show under the fluff, which they will eventually shed very quickly once it starts.
Solaius pups stay with their parents for 3 years in their den, is taught by their parents and will go outside exploring under their paretns' supervision. When they reach 4 years old, they will be allowed to spend more time alone, and will make friends with other pups their age. Solaius do not have any form of community teachings, so all the teachings are taught by their parents or other adult and mature wolves within their packs. When they reach 9 they are allowed to join in on the first pack hunt, and if they succeed they're allowed to participate in pack meetings.

Abillities
The Solaius have excellent night vision and can see just as clearly at night as they can in the day, making them able to travel during nighttime. Because of this, they are semi-nocturnal and are most active during dusk and dawn. Some of them are also able to control plants and to make them grow or manipulate them into doing things for them, and it is not Nobleborn locked.
PHYSICAL APPEARANCE
Solaius are generally small and compact wolves. They have short, thick necks and short legs, with areas like the rumb, neck, cheecks and ears having longer fur. Their tails are unique, with a thinner base and then it fans out near the end. It's also quite flat when looked at from some perspectives. Their fur is silky and shiny and they will maintain this fur several hours every week.
Solaius wolves come in colorations mixed of white/cream, gold and orange with very saturated and bright color palettes. They are generally light colored, similar to that of sun and light. They usually stay quite bright and vibrant. Undersides will usually be lighter/white. They have both natural and unnatural patterns and markings, and often give off a very distinctive look.

Decoration
Solaius will very commonly decorate themselves with items they find in nature, especially plants and herbs. They will weave it into their fur or use special silk and rope to attach larger items to them. If they are going to fight or spar, they will always remove the decorations to avoid damage. They will also create sashes and attach them to their fur.
Culture & Death
While their territory is far from other packs and species, their closest neighbours being the Basir, a few wolves will travel to the salt-lands in search of healing. While the saltpools are too hot, there are several hot-springs scattered around that boosts healing. And with the help of the Solaius they are able to heal almost any injury.
They have a rather unusual cultural ritual for their dead. They do not bury their dead and they treat a dead body in ways that are unheard of in other species. If a fellow pack-mate dies, no matter the reason, they will usually let the body stay where he or she died unless it is in the middle of camp. They have normalized death as part of life, and it's not uncommon to come across wolf bones covered in flowers and moss in the forest. Solaius will often pay respect to their dead by planting flowers or mushrooms near dead and decomposing bodies, or offer them food offerings.
However, there's a dark rumour spreading about a secret and rare trait that sometimes are born from them; the Ornate. But any current living Solaius believes it's a myth and never talk about it to outsiders... An Ornate is believed by legends to be wolves born every 100 years into this tribe with special markings and powers. But what this power is or what their purposes are is unknown.,,

Diet
The Solaius eat a variety of meats, from land animals to fish that live in the brackwater fjord. They will also eat plants and fruits they find, especially citrus, and will often spend days looking for truffles to eat. They are also known to consume a lot of salt in their diet, but it doesn't seem to affect them very much.
Territory
Their territory lies in Helmyre in the saltlands. It is unnaturally warm and humid and the seasons never change, always trapped in what appears to be middle-autumn, though it is known to snow there during winter. The fjord water is brackwater, making it undrinkable to most species. The Salt-Rivers are well known in this province, for it's danger and beauty. While Solaius have adapted to be able to drink it, they know of streams that contain fresh water. The rivers here are unnaturally hot and steaming. Salt can be gathered in masses, but touching the water or termite-growths of salt can cause terrible burns and blisters and if a wolf is unfortunate to fall into the steaming water they will die within seconds. Prey is scarce and only smaller animals live in this province such as rabbits and goats and fish in the safe-rivers and the fjord. The water in the Fjord and salt-rivers is unnaturally light colored.
